Workshops
RELATE! Children's Workshops
During the fall and spring, the Center for Family and Couple Therapy offers evening workshops once a month. The workshops are intended to help build relationship and social skills for children ages 3 to 8, and are designed by Dr. Toni Zimmerman, a highly experienced faculty member in the couple and family therapy program. Workshops cover topics such as friendship, bullying, diversity, safety and families. Workshops last 90 minutes, with children of similar ages playfully “working” in small groups with graduate students and faculty members in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. Children’s Workshops run concurrently with Adult Seminars, so parents may attend the Adult Seminar, observe their child during the Children’s Workshop, or take this opportunity to enjoy some free time.
RELATE! Adult Seminars
During the fall and spring, the Center for Family and Couple Therapy offers evening seminars on adult relationships once a month. Presentations are given by CFCT faculty and cover topics such as creating connection in couple relationships, key principles to intimate relationships, strategies for balancing work and family, and techniques for fighting fairly. Seminars last 60 minutes and run concurrently with Children’s Workshops.
